
Meet Our Staff

Dave Ragnacci
Dave Ragnacci, owner and director of the studio has studied dance in New York City, Chicago, Christophers National Dance Teachers Seminars and numerous work shops. He has participated in The First American World Wide Dance Congress held in Chicago. He has been certified in dance through Dance Educators of America. He was resident choreographer for The Corner Bistro Dinner Theatre. Mr. Ragnacci is known for his work throughout the community choreographing and participating with such groups as North Scranton Jr. High School, Penn State Players, Penn State Cheerleaders, Bishop Hannan Cheerleaders, Standing Room Only Community Theater, Forest City Follies, The Daily Grind, Marywood Players, U of S Players, Lakeland High School Band Front, Coal Company Theater, Holy Rosary, Lincoln School and has taught at The University of Scranton Youth Sports Program. Dave was the choreographer for Valley View, Lakeland, West Side and Bishop Hoban High Schools for over 10 years. He has also severed as Actors Circle choreographer.
Dave along with his dance partner Renea Kwolek -Larue won first place in the local audition for the hit TV Show “Dance Fever” and went on to place for one of the four finalist for the local audition. Also, he had the opportunity to dance along side of Sir Richard Harris in his production of “Julius Caesar”


Kevin Stevenson
Kevin has been involved with the Dave Ragnacci School of Dance since 2000 acting as the studio’s art director. In addition to prop and set design Kevin’s responsibilities include advertising, programs and music. Kevin has studied art, photography and design at The Savannah College of Art and Design and The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He has art directed such shows as “Harvey” and “Romeo and Juliet.” Kevin has also appeared on stage at The Corner Bistro Dinner Theatre. Kevin teaches jazz, tap and hip-hop.


Tara
Tara has been an instructor for Dave Ragnacci School of Dance since 1989. She has been dancing since the age of 3 and could not imagine a life without the art of dance. She has appeared in many full-length ballets and has had extensive training in New York City and Pennsylvania. She is a certified member of Dance Educators of America. In addition to teaching at the studio, Tara has appeared in and choreographed many theatrical productions at Standing Room Only, The Act, and the Corner Bistro. She has also served as the dance instructor for the NYSP camp at the University of Scranton. Tara has a BS in Elementary Education and an MS in Educational Psychology and is a therapist for the CSBBH team at Riverside School District. Tara has an adult daughter Allie and a wonderful husband named Eric. Tara plans on teaching for Dave until the end of time because so far it’s been a great ride.


Brittany
Brittany has been dancing with the Dave Ragnacci School of Dance since the age of three. Over the years, she has taken lessons in ballet, jazz, tap, pointe, and hip hop. She was always involved in the studio, demonstrating during her younger years, and later began teaching and choreographing classes in 2017. She has always found great joy being in the studio and dancing. She hopes to keep the love of dance going and inspire students for many years to come! She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a concentration area in Special Education and a minor in Psychology from Wilkes University.


Holly Schovitz
Holly has been dancing since the age of 3. She has danced, taught dance, and choreographed in the styles of hip hop, tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, and ballroom. Holly has taken master classes out of New York City and Pennsylvania in hip hop, tap, jazz, and ballet. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Scranton. While she was there, she was on the dance team for 4 years. She earned her Master’s Degree from Wilkes University. Holly directs the talent show and choreographs the grand finale for all students involved along with choreographing plays at PMSD. Holly loves teaching dance and choreographing. She has been teaching dance at the Dave Ragnacci School of Dance since 2007. Holly is excited for the upcoming dance season at DRSD and looks to share her love of dance with many future dance students.


Jenny Magistro Newcomb
Miss Jenny started her dance career at the age of four, and joined DRSD back in 1992 when she was just 8 years old.She’s been a member of the studio since. She danced throughout her youth- including four years as a demonstrator, and being featured as Sleeping Beauty her senior year. After graduation, she returned to the studio as an assistant teacher before advancing to teacher in 2009. Jenny’s passion is dancing, but also educating others to learn the art, and experience the joy of dance. Miss Jenny has a wonderful family including her two young sons, Declan and Eamon. She is thankful and forever grateful to be part of The Dave Ragnacci School of Dance while looking forward to continued success with Dave and the staff for years to come.


Eryn Kearney
Eryn has been dancing since the age of 3. She began her training at the West Side Dance Academy and later transferred to the DRSD in 2005 where she studied & continues to learn ballet, jazz, tap, pointe & hip hop. She was involved as a demonstrator and later as an assistant teacher at the studio before becoming a teacher. She was voted Best Local Dancer in the 570 Best of Electric City Reader’s Poll over many years. Eryn has also been an award winning choreographer for local theatre programs throughout the years, winning multiple Excellence in School Theatre Arts awards for her work with the West Scranton Players in musicals such as The Addams Family: the Musical, Young Frankenstein, and Nice Work If You Can Get It. She has also been involved in many local charity events, winning a local DWTS competition. She is a 2014 graduate of West Scranton High School. Outside of dance, Eryn is a small business owner with a passion for helping others thrive through the expression of their creativity. Eryn is excited to be teaching at the studio she grew up with and eager to continue learning and growing as a dancer and choreographer.


Jess
Jess has been dancing for as long as she can remember, starting at the Turi Studio of Dance and Fitness, where she studied until after her college graduation. She then discovered Dave and his studio, and joined in 2007. She became a staff member in 2012, teaching all styles of dance, but her true joy comes in teaching the littlest dancers in pre-ballet and pre-jazz, and her preteen students. She holds degrees in both Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Marywood University, and is currently employed by Keystone College’s Children’s Center. She resides in Duryea with her husband, Mike, and plans on being part of the studio for years to come.


Amy
Amy began dancing at the age of six and has continued to learn and love the art form ever since. She became a member of the Dave Ragnacci School Of Dance in 1998, and began teaching in 2005. Before coming to DRSD she took at Dansation Dance Studio and David Blight School of Dance. She holds a BA in English and minor in dance along with a MS in Kinesiology from Marywood University. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and personal trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Amy looks forward to helping the students at DRSD express themselves through movement, and hopes each student can find happiness in dance like she has.
